Festive Outdoor Christmas Decorating Tips
‘Tis the season to decorate! As you get in the holiday spirit and get ready to decorate your home for the season, remember to show your exterior some love. Use these outdoor Christmas decorating tips to create an outdoor festive winter wonderland at your home.
Several of our new homes in Hobbs NM floor plans have columns on the exterior. Wrap your columns with lights, garland, or both to create a warm and merry look in the front of your house.
Giant candy décor
Do not neglect your front yard when decorating your exterior. Candy is the perfect accessory for this. Place giant lollipops or candy canes in your yard. This will be a welcomed sight for your friends, family, or visitors.
Ice skate wreath
Do you have a pair of old ice skates lying around? Or maybe you found a pair at goodwill. You can transform an old pair of ice skates into a beautiful wreath for your front door. Fill your skate or skates with evergreen from your yard or that you have bought. Add berries, pinecones, silver bells, or other greenery that you have found. Replace the laces with a long, thick cut ribbon that you can use as a bow to finish off the look. This will look great strewn on your front door.
Light it up
Christmas isn’t really Christmas without lights. Make your front yard a lit winter heaven. Adorn the trees in your yard with holiday lights. The tree branches and tree trunks provide the ideal decorating pallet to accomplish this look.
There is no law that says your Christmas ornaments are designated for only your tree. Revitalize your planters with a festive look by filling them up with colorful ornaments. You may opt for plastic ornaments since they do not break. Throw in branches, greenery, pinecones, and whatever else you think will help make it festive to complete this look.
This look is straight out of the décor magazines! Hang a wreath from every outdoor window of your home to achieve a symmetrical festive look.
Our new homes in Hobbs NM have decorative wall lanterns outdoors. Hang a Christmas themed bow or wreath from the lanterns. This is a modest look that will make a beautiful and festive addition to your home’s exterior.
