Five Heat-Tolerant Plants for your Patio

The temperatures are starting to rise around our homes for sale in roswell nm. As the weather continues to warm up and you look to outfit your patio with plants, consider these five plants that are most appropriate for the heat and will keep their beauty.

  1. Agave – This perennial plant thrives in either sunlight or shade. The Agave is a tough plant that needs well-drained soil, is very easy to grow and maintain. This lovely plant should be put it in a large enough contained since it can grow to more than four feet.
  2. Canna Lily – If you would like your patio to have a tropical appearance then look no further than the Canna Lily. The flowers come in warm colors, including shades of orange, pink, red and yellow. Not much effort is required to take care of this plant. Just make sure it gets full sun and moist soil to grow. The Canna Lily can reach up to one to 15 feet.
  3. Passionflower – This lovely flower is great for attracting butterflies. It can grow to more than 10 feet and thrives well in full sun and moist, but well-drained soil. They are available in different colors including blue, red and purple.
  4. Pentas – Butterflies love Pentas as well. It blooms either pink, red or white flowers and can grow to two or more feet in size. They need plenty of sunlight and moisture, but should be potted in well-drained soil.
  5. Salvia – This beautiful flower is guaranteed to grow. It is extremely heat – and drought – tolerant and even produces a fragrant smell. It can grow higher than three feet and comes in a variety of different types of salvia and colors including blue, pink, purple, red, yellow and whites. Salvia also attracts butterflies as well as birds. So have your camera ready to capture wonderful shots of these beautiful creatures.
