How to Maintain HVAC This Winter

The HVAC systems in our Sonoma Rach East homes in las cruces nm community work more during the winter. Therefore it is important to make sure your HVAC system is running properly and efficiently. With the temperatures cooling down use these four tips on how to maintain your HVAC system this winter.

  1. Air filters – Check your air filters to make sure air is properly flowing. These should be cleaned or replaced on a monthly basis or at least every other month.
  2. Air vents and air ducts – Inspect these to ensure no debris or dust has gotten into them. Blocked your air vents and air ducts can prohibit hot air from moving freely and circulating properly.
  3. HVAC Inspection – Have your HVAC system inspected by a professional every year. The inspector will check things like belts, contacts, electrical switches, gas pressure, and safety switches to ensure everything is running properly.
  4. Programmable thermostat – Each of our homes come standard with a programmable thermostat. Use your programmable thermostat by setting it to ideal temperatures throughout the day that match your schedule. Lower the temperature when you are at home and at night to maximize energy efficiency.
