Landscape Your Yard with Glass

You probably have seen more and more las cruces nm homes landscape designs with added beauty and sparkle. This is because landscaping with recycled crushed glass is becoming a popular trend in Las Cruces.

Decorating with crushed glass is a great way to showcase your creative personality. It provides homeowners a way to really design to their imagination. Jeff Anderson, a cooperative extension, said “the crushed glass acts as a mulch, slowing the evaporation of moisture from the soil.” This is especially beneficial in our climate since we do not see a lot of rain. Crushed glass can also be used around potted plants or as a top dressing.

Customers of French Brothers Homes can work with our Design Studio to integrate crushed glass into your landscaping design. Crushed glass can be picked up from the South Central Solid Waste Authority (SCSWA) Recycling Yard that is located at 2855 W. Amador. It is absolutely free and available in brown, clear and green colors. The clear color looks like white sand or snow. It is the ideal choice for reflecting heat. You can also donate glass bottles and jars at the SCSWA Recycling Yard or the Recycling Drop Off Center that is located at 555 S. Sonoma Ranch Boulevard.

We currently have two beautiful las cruces nm homes for sale in Sonoma East. Give our sales team a call at (575) 404-1740 to learn more about our inventory. We look forward to helping you get into your dream home.
