In the age of COVID-19, many homes in Las Cruces NM residents are choosing to go outside and explore all that Las Cruces has to offer while safely practicing social distancing. Here are some outdoor recreation activities you can and enjoy in Las Cruces.

  1. The Doña Ana Mountains Trail System have amazing trails to hike, horseback ride, and mountain bike. These trails are good for both beginner and advanced skill levels. Select the trail that fits your skill level. They are also kid-friendly so you can plan a family day out for fun.

  1. The Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park is great for outdoor recreational activities. There are self-guided trails and bird watching that can be done here. Bring water, snacks, bugspray, sunscreen, binoculars, and everything else you need to hike the trails or see birds local to the area. The park is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

  1. The Picacho Peak Recreation Area has more than 15 miles of mountain biking, hiking, and equestrian trails. Experience all the Peak has to offer and more. It is perfect for a workout or just a nice walk or ride.
